Broomfiller,
Your band is very good. You are now the main featured band on the home page of Zbands.com (April 9th thru April 15h). Your programming expertise is also very good.

Zbands.com
I checked out your profile and enjoyed all the songs. While I'm more of a classic rock fan than Punk, what I did really like about
you guys is that you have a realness to you that bands like Blink and Simple plan and those type of bands lack big time. Those bands
really turned me against the punk/alternative scene. You guys take it back to almost classic alternative.
I hear like a Pearl Jam/Nirvana sound to the vocals with a much more positive and progessive attitude as oppsed to depression
and all life's problems. I'm definatly feeling a bit of Bad Religon and Bush X in there, and I fucken love all those bands. I
think yous fucken rock and take the influence of great bands and put a positive and energetic lyrical spin on what they've done
to create a unique and fresh identity that you can call your own.
I dig every song on the profile and I'll definatly toss up a banner to promote you guys on my space. Thanks for stopping by to
give me a shout and introduce me to your music, I'm drunk and totally diggin it, and if you're ever in Cape Breton or Sydney Nova
Scotia, lemme know ahead of time and I'll put the word out for alot of people to show up and take in what'd be sure to be an
awesome show.
Keep on fucken Rockin, cause you list the Foo Fighters as major influence, and I think your band blows them completly out
of the water. Take er easy.
Dave - Nova Scotia

Richard, I watched the video last night, I saw the link on your profile and checked it out.
It's good, I like the video and the music. You have a good voice and it goes well with your style of music.
The video is good as well, origional as well which is a good thing because there are so many videos already
out there it must be hard to think up anything new. Congratz on having the video on much, you defonitally
have your foot in the door now. It must have been alot of hard work getting to where you are now, and there
is alot ahead, but it must be worth it.
-Char

I like the site, I d/l some of your tunes too...pretty good stuff.
amyeradgrl
Usually, I am not a fan of punk because it sounds as though they are unable to sing or carry a note. But
in your groups case you have changed my view, I think that video was creative, practical, comical and
a sense of who you guys are. The music, I can say that you had me hooked and wanting to hear more of
your stuff, so I emailed your site to some of my friends and perhaps they will have the same opinion!
I know that it must be hard to stand out with everyone out there but I think you should keep it up and
if you were able to catch me doing the groove and smiling with the vid that your band may reach other
levels of fans. I will keep an ear out for ya on much and let the boyfriend have a boo at your stuff too.
Tammy
you guys definatly rawk my sawks off! you're right good!
Ezekiel_babe - SWYDM.com
MAN, you guys are really GOOD !!!
Ted Bruun - Extreme Tour
Hey. I'm not far from Toronto. I just watched your video. It's really a pretty rad vid. Did you actually film that inside a
moving van ? That's so cool. Haha. Nice idea. The song is pretty solid as well. And I just sent in my request to Much Music to
have it played. I've never heard of guys until this post at Absolute Punk, but thanks for letting me know about Broomfiller. Pretty
awesome. You should come to Oshawa sometime and set up a local show with some bands from here at our local club, The Dungeon or
Le Skratch. Both would be awesome. I'd definitely come watch you guys play if you did that.
-Brandon
Decide Inside - A good punk song with a couple of things that set it apart from many punk song:
A) it appears the musicians can actually play their instruments, and
B) good, understandable vocals!
Derrick - greatwhitenoise.ca

THE BROOMFILLER SHOW
night one
Broomfiller is a band of three guys, who sound incredible for a band who just found their drummer the day before leaving on tour. When we first got to the show, held at the 19th Hole Tournament House in Sylvan Lake, we were the only people there. The band was just warming up, and it was a pretty sad looking scene. The band stopped playing, and decided they wanted to take a picture of Crystal and Apryl because they were wearing Broomfiller stickers on their clothes. Then everyone got to talking, and we actually got to know the band pretty well. Actually, it was the drummer, Paul that we talked to the most, the other two were just wandering back and forth. I think it was the girls he wanted to know, but I was there, so I became part of the conversation anyway.Paul is a hairstylist from Toronto, which is where the band is from. He doesn't fit the stereotype of a hairstylist, which makes it all that much cooler. He complimented Crystal on the way that she did Apryl's hair, which is neat-o. Their album is called Watching The Girls Go Bi I heard the title described as "clever". It took forever for the other bands to arrive. When they finally did, the music got going. First up was Stillframe, I believe they're out of Edmonton, although I'm not really sure, as I didn't care. They were decent, but not something I'd pay money for if they were playing by themselves. Then, it was time for Broomfiller. They played well as a unit, with few noticealbe slip-ups. The lead guitarist/singer, Richard, wrote all the songs, and most of the lyrics are awesome. He get's into the show's and enjoys playing right in the middle of the crown. George, the bass player moves around a lot on stage, which is very interesting to watch. I've always felt kind of sorry for drummers, because they can't get up and move around like other bandmembers can, however, Paul appeared to be having a good time anyway. They turned the last few songs into a dance competition, which was cool, because it got people to really start moving...or maybe it was a clever ploy to sell more bottled water. After Broomfiller, an Edmonton band called Nevertheless came on. They were pretty decent, but I spent most of their set outside, because the cops showed up and made us close the windows and doors, which turned the Tournament house into an oven. Tonight, they're playing with Bailey's Car and Kiros. I have to work, so will be late. No matter, I will be seeing Bailey's Car and Kiros with Trow on Saturday the 27th, at Upper Level Youth Centre. I believe the cost is $5 at the door.
FINAL SAY:
Broomfiller is 3 cool guys who play cool music, hopefully they will last for a while with this configuration (Richard, Paul, George). They are defineatly a band to watch out for,
Hey my name's Nikki, I saw you guys play at Transit in Hamilton...

Hey!! Hope the tour is going well for ya. I'm pretty sure you won't remember me, but I was your server at the Pizza Hut in Airdrie when you did Summer Slam for us. Anyways, I jut thought I would contact you and say that I just finished voting for you for the Snojam 2002!! See, I promised I would, and I did. Well, if you're ever touring the Calgary area, make sure I know and I'll come see you guys. I listened to a few songs and I love you guys. You probably hear this all the time that you're really good and everything, but, seriously, you guys rock. Well, keep in touch and if you're ever back in Airdrie, stop in at Pizza Hut and I'll be sure not to make the "Stuffed Crust" pizza you ordered a regular crust. Talk to ya later.
Luv you all,

good. Hope it stays that way!! Best of luck guy, give 'er!! See ya when
you get back.
Stephen

The past two nights or so have been a life ultering experience. I met boys, boys from a band. They are about in there mid 20's or so(im really not sure) and they are awesome. The boys are a band from ontario, Paul(drumber), Richard(vocals,guitar),George(guitar/backup vocals) and of course Sammy G their merch guy. They are all so amazing in their own ways. http://awakeatmidnight.tripod.com, then go to the rants at the bottom of the page for details about all of them.
My personal opinion is...Well I was trying to figure out which of them I liked best and it is impossible! Paul, he like to talk and he really knew how to make a girl fell good about herself. He was just a sweet tlaker that knew how to get his way. Also the fact that he could play the drums, had tatoos and peircings...well it's everything that a girl could ever dream of having. Richard, at first he was a strange fella, his nipples and titties t' and his rant about how to make macaronie and tuna. After talking with him he became more iresistable, the fact he wrote the songs, he sings fanomaly, the type of singing that can put you into a trance. He really was a sweetie, also the glasses just pulled everything together. George, wow, quiet, muscular, bouncer type image but of course a beauty at heart. When he did talk it was just so cool to listen to him, everything he said I was able to understand, a really down to earth guy, hes the type that looks like you could think you know everything about him but he will always be hiding something. As for the plaid pants, it shows he's wild and gutsy. Great combo. Now we can't forget Sammy G, The merch boy's never get enough credit. Him and his cute little toes and his beach boy style. The babyface with the lip peircing makes him hot! The blue hair now come-on who does'nt love blue hair. He seemed to be honest and up for anything. There are moments where I caught his eyes in my direction and they just made me want to smile. All the boy's had phanominal eyes, each different though, George's all colors like mine, almost like a midnight rainbow. Sammy G had beautiful bluesea eyes. Richard's brown with passion.
(**ED NOTE: Richard's eyes are infact deep blue.) Pauly's also apeared to be different colors in different lights, really mysterious, also the sort of eyes that pulled off the sad puppy look well. It's amazing that life can change within minutes, It was just last weekend that I promised I had to break out of my shell and acept anyhitng that comes to me. On wednesday Broomfiller pulled up in there van on the beach and yelled out the window "are you girls comming to the show tonight?" totaly stuned I decided to take the invatation. No regrets about it. Even though not many people showed up I think it was suposed to be like that...I had one of the best times of my life. I danced I was happy. I went back the second night too, just to experience it all over again...Bonding with the band was fun, Im a mellow person so it was all really new to me. It showed that no matter what people have, if you want to be part of there life...the door is always open. The second night they dedicated a song to Apryl and I, Lost, I had never heard it before that but I had a chance to read the lyrics,"make me feel like someones there, even if I dont care" those really stuck out. In times that I've had trouble, there has always been that feeling deep inside that I cant disapear because someone out there does care...It just really hit me...
When Broomfiller plays again near my place I will go see them, friends are forever...Also there music I think is somehting you can listen to if your happy, sad, angree, joyed or even if you have no emotion at all...
Thank you guys! I apreciate your everything!
Please mail me back so I know the correct address for future mail. Thanx, I miss you!
Yours Truly, Crystal Beuker

what I heard. I do publicity for Darryl (Gen Sub) so one good
thing is the opportunity to hear bands that I
have ever missed, or waiting to see. You three
did not disappoint.
Best Wishes,
Ray Ivey - GenSub Records
Just to let ya know I got your tunes and I do like what I hear!!

Top Ten reasons to be a BROOMFILLER fan by Jenn Pfeifer
10. Obivously the music.
9. Answering Richard's warped questions.
8. So we can have people ask us what a broomfiller is.
7. Because "Watching the Girls go Bi" has awsome cover art.
6. Who else has a lead vocalist who would dress up like a pink muppet like character for a movie.
5. The devious plan to keep us craving the new album by constant delays.
4. There is something about voting a gizzlion times on thousands of music sites.
3. Because they dare to post our sometimes insane answers to the above menchoned question.
2. Live Concerts.
1. Because the band will never be labeled a "Pop Band".
Richard, Great to hear from you. I love hearing about successful bands who have worked as hard as you guys have! You truly deserve more recognition. I listened to the BROOMFILLER songs posted on MP3.com. Great stuff! Keep Rockin'

Thanks Richard & Broomfiller,
I do think if Punk was more like your style, I'd listen to it. I listened to all the songs on Glassfood that day & yours was the most unique for it's genre. Keep in touch. I'll visit your site sometimes & email you when I do.
God bless--Tingle
I listened to some of your mp3-s, and i have to admit, you play a goddamn good music. I like it very much. Guitar rhyffs, and the voice of the singer are fuckin good. I was telling my friend Tyler at the show if i don't see you headlining or
atleast on the Edgefest mainstage in the next two or three years i'll have
to talk to some organizers so they can get there shit together man...i don't
say these things sincerly to many people cause i usually don't think anyone is any good at anything. I have so much respect for someone like yrself cause if it was me in your situation then i would've given up after my first show...ha! Not saying that you should give up for any reason...that's the furthest from what i want to say....i want to say keep on rockin in the free world and i'll be uttering the words "i know that guy"...or..."ya, i hung
out with that guy once or twice...nice guy...likes titty alot!" ha!
Lates man....rock!
I listened to as much of the radio show interview as I was able to (around 15 mins), but then I had to go. It was hysterical! Richard, you did a fab job! Just wanted to tell you that you were wonderful. It was great to finally be able to hear you. I'm looking forward to seeing you live someday.
Melissa
i'm really glad things are going well for you man...
i have alot of respect for you and the amount of effort you put into
everything you do....
you sincerly rock....
niall
:o)
lates....
Hello Richard
My thoughts - you have a quality voice and a contemporary marketable style. For radio, that's half the battle won. This is an act with possibilities to win the other half. Pursue that killer breakthrough song.
Best regards
Gary Moffet
Yello,
Richard I thought that since I had a moment (it's late... and I don't have to be up at some ungodly hour tomorrow) I'd use it to send a huge congratulations on the leaps and bounds you've taken with the band since our last tete-a-tete. Every little while I get the list updates (and read them, unlike most of the other mail I get) and I'm pleased again and again to see how well things are going for you guys.
Not to get sentimental on you, brother, but I never would have started my first band if I hadn't seen you having a blast onstage back at Harvestfest '98 (ha... what a gas... 3 years ago now?) Anywho, best of luck with the new bass man and the whirlwind of interest that's engulfing you guys; you've worked long and hard for it and you deserve all the acclaim you get. You know I dig rooting on the hometown boy.
--Rob
Happy Holidays Richard!
Hope the new year brings fame, fortune, and hot chicks for Broomfiller!
Katy
Yo, You guys have a nice Christmas and Happy New Year! You guys don't
get drunk or anything ok! Lol! I wanna say that me and my friends want some
more of your shows to be in Oakville! And make them so 14 year olds can get
in! We really wanna see you guys live again! Well Peace!
Lates,
Fieldy Snuts
hey there
i was in the neighbourhood, and.....stopped by your house....and peeked in
your living room window......no really i was in the neighbourhood and went to sam the record man's. i was really disappointed because i couldn't find
your cd....i almost asked for help, which i never do (cause i'm so, you know, knowledgable about music and don't HAVE to...)
but then there's this wall.....not with the other walls.....and there it was! ok what's with the cover art? it almost turned me off from buying it,
but then i said to myself, "katy, what the fuck. just buy it. buy it buy it buy it buy it buy it buy it buy it and then burn down the sunrise records across the street!"
so i bought it, but was out of matches so i just went home. and here i am,listening to it. AND IT ROCKS! honestly, judging from bands that my
friends are in, and what they sound like, i wasn't expecting very much. but, wow, i really dig this. why only seven songs? i want more!
keep it up!
katy
